I would say the Della Valles are the Medicis, Cesare is like a cross between da Vinci and Machiavelli.

Strange…as far as I know Milan should be there…we beat them 3-1 back in 06, Toni scored twice, Jorgensen, and the (then milanista) Gila

I read the paper today; whatever the frick happened to the other Italians?

Also, 1-0 for the Big Spenders? So much for Ronaldo III’s return.

What do the boys have to do to grab the top seed in the group? I’d love to avoid, say, Barcelona and Man U, especially if it means we get Unirea or someone equally unpronounceable.

I want to beat Inter so bad!! I can’t stand them. We need to score the first goal of the game – plain and simple

We should just attack! attack! attack!! play Gila, Santana, Vargas, JoJo(if healthy), Marchi, and De Silv and just attack the hell out of Inter..I believe this is the only way in beating them…We always seem to play scared against them. If we arent attacking in the first 20 Mins of the game, i wont be able to watch the rest

    Mike R,

Is it near impossible to find highlights for our Primavera games like the one you mentioned about Babacar scoring late to win?

Mike B, I agree completely. I truly believe Prandelli is a better coach than Mourinho who despite having great squads since his CL winning Porto (make no mistake, while that was a team effort Deco was playing at a golden ball deserving level that year) basically grinds out victory through every negative tactic in the book. Without Zlatan I’m not afraid of Inter if we can score first. Last year it was basically an individual effort from Zlatan that torched us.

Also I hope we play for the win in Liverpool, if we win the group we can get a team like Unirea or Olympiakos who we are definitely better than. If Lyon for whatever reason wins against Debrecen by only one goal and we draw Liverpool I’m not sure what will happen, as our head to head records are even. But in realistic terms we need to beat Liverpool to really guarantee first place; our sloppy defending against Debrecen is hurting us.

Just found this site and I am pleased to see so many Fiorentina fans. Della Valle & Co. have given us a lot of satisfactions in a very short period of time and they are getting even more ambitious each and every day. Very proud of this team. Now that this stage is behind us, it will give us about 3 months to only concentrate on the Serie A because I believe that we have the team to finish second this year. Let’s beat Inter on Sunday. Forza Viola!!!!

if anything Prandels and Corvo are the “architects” of the team

    Della Valle are the Medici

And wrap your heads around this:

This is a self portrait of a one Filipino Lippi, drawn at the end of the 15th century…

Thanks for the earlier answer Mike R.

I’ve seen Monto’s i mean Lippi’s Adoration of the Magi in the Uffizi and it is pretty breathtaking.

I proud of the guys that stepped up and got the job done when a good amount of our key guys went down. Hopefully we can stay healthy for the rest of the season, but we still need more depth in January. Like what was said earlier, if we score first it would make me very happy.

i’m loving the press for the viola. yahoo sports’ coverage of football is rather slim, but we are finally getting some love. they have us ranked 8th in the champions league:

“Fiorentina – Quietly picked its way through Group E and can’t be discounted.”

in addition, varganimal was their player of the week:

“Juan Vargas. The Fiorentina star proved to be the difference as the Viola powered past Lyon to confirm its spot in the last 16. Vargas was a constant threat throughout and converted the penalty that was the difference between the sides.”

Not surprised at some EPL homerdom from Yahoo, like all American sources they get their info from the British and don’t understand that football doesn’t revolve around merry old England. Props to them for giving us credit though, at least they aren’t as bad as SoccerNet or as I call it PremiershipNet

    Happy Thanksgiving too.
