Fiorentina 0 – Inter 0: Recap
By: Ted |Yesterday in Florence our Fiorentina held Inter to a nil draw with the Viola’s top two strikers and scoring threats on the bench. Although I would have loved a win (and one was certainly within reach) I’ll take the point and look towards Siena on Sunday.
Inter Preview and a Few Gila Thoughts
By: Ted |The games continue to come fast and furious for the Viola. Tomorrow in beautiful Florence the boys take on league-leading Inter in what is sure to be an interesting match. A win, or even a draw, would signal to the rest of Europe that Fiorentina are ready to be considered one of the [...]
Palermo 1 – Fiorentina 3: The Hand of Gila
By: Ted |Not only is the title of the post a lame pun, but it was used by goal.com before I was able to get it down on paper. For family reasons I recorded the game and didn’t watch it until about four hours after the match had been played. Thus, by the time the game [...]
Palermo v. Fiorentina: Preview
By: Ted |On Sunday evening the Viola travel down south to play Palermo in a critical Series A matchup between two teams with big ambitions this year. Both clubs are coming off dispiriting losses (Fiorentina was spanked by Bayern midweek while Palermo was taken to task by archrivals Catania, the latter of which led to Palermo [...]
Bayern Munich 3 – Fiorentina 0: We’re On Life Support, And the Plug May Soon Be Pulled
By: Ted |Today in Munich a very different (and much more successful, I suppose) Beer Hall Putsch took place as Bayern Munich stomped my beloved Fiorentina 3-0. It makes little difference that Fiorentina played better than the score indicated (especially in the first half); they did not defend well and couldn’t finish in front of the [...]
Bayern Munich v. Fiorentina: Preview and Links
By: Ted |My apologies to all, but I won’t be able to get a proper preview up of tomorrow’s big game. I have to work late yet again (thanks for the collapse of the world economy, fellas) and just don’t have the time to put up some original writing. I love that the boys are [...]
Fiorentina 3 – Reggina 0: Head for the Bomb Shelter
By: Ted |Today in beautiful Florence the Viola downed ten-man Reggina to win their third match in a row in Series A. The three goals came courtesy of a well-taken penalty by my man Gianpaolo Pazzini and a brace from Alberto Gilardino, who at this point is almost making it look easy. Like all Viola [...]
Fiorentina v. Reggina: Preview
By: Ted |This morning I woke up, fed my son, and then as always went overt to the computer to see what was new in the world. I read about last night’s presidential debate and tonight’s big baseball game featuring my hometown Red Sox. Something, however, was nagging me, sticking like a thorn in the [...]
Just A Quick Hello
By: Ted |I wanted to say hello to everyone and let you all know that our beloved Viola is still very much on my mind. With the International break upon us, I have decided to take a little break from posting for the week to spend a bit more time with the family while there’s no [...]
Chievo 0 – Fiorentina 2: Back on Track
By: Ted |Today in Verona the Viola got all three points on the road as they defeated newly promoted Chievo Verona 2-0 to gain a little ground on some of their competitors for the top spots in Series A and, in the process, got their season back on track.
