Addio Moena: End Of Training Camp

Moena_panorama

After 20 days and many changes, Fiorentina come down from their mountain top training camp and head back to Florence, with a small trip to Istanbul on the way.

Fiorentina will go to Turkey to face Galatasaray and former Viola Ujfalusi. Felipe Melo has been sent back to Istanbul, but whether he’ll make the squad for the friendly has yet to be seen.

The squad coming down from the mountains has almost no resemblance to that which went up to Moena about three weeks ago. These last 20 days have seen the addition of Roncaglia, Cuadrado, Mati Fernandez, Gonzalez, Valero, Aquilani, plus the finalization of Viviano and Della Rocca and Fiorentina fans have gone from wondering to wonderment.

Prior to leaving Moena, Fiorentina officially presented new comer Alberto Aquilani to the press and fans.

    Good times: http://www2.raisport.rai.it/news/rubriche/cmercato/200106/30/3b3ddd22020d9/toldo.jpg

Toldo looks like a cross between Ronaldo and Dave Grohl.

really poor coverage of this match by everyone concerned. I’m very dissatisfied. no video and very few textual updates.

20 ‘- Fiorentina manage to find some’ space although Galatasaray to make the game. Olivera think especially to break the opponent’s game, while Vargas did not appear to have entered into the game. Meanwhile, Rodriguez has been brought forward to another high ball with a header by Elmander and parade Viviano. Score still standing at 0-0.

here’s a better textual update site

Don’t forget this team is very much a work in progress, it’s expected that there’s zero chemistry.

sounds like vargash is having a terrible match. he did manage a cross a few minutes ago, easily collected muslera

38 min olivera gets a pass to jovetic 20 meters from the goal, but he’s offside.
44 min vargas starts a long run on the left, gets the ball to jovetic, but muslera parries

    half time 0-0
reportedly Roncaglia strong in defense, apparently valero and aquilani look decent in the middle, too many mistakes for olivera have given Viola very few chances at goal.

seems fair considering were playing a major euro team…i’ll take a draw if need be, just be sure we’re taking chances as well

Pasqual will start the second half, in place of vargash

    disaster.
galatasaray score and on the play, what should have been an easy save, Viviano collapses and is injured. looks like the same knee he injured last season. he has to be stretchered off.

El ham comes back with a chance, but Muslera is there

    Have we sold/cut/fired Boruc?
And what did we do with Seculin?

It’s ok…. But 1-1 would be better! Nothing to get worried about tho, this is what pre season friendlies are for, to iron out all the problems. Not that I understand too much Italian but jovitic name is mentioned a lot which could mean he’s having a decent game. Vargas tho….. Hmmmm he needs to pick it up before the start of the season

boruc is gone, lupatelli is the back up, neto might be considered once he gets back from London, we’ll have to see the extant of the injury first. reports from the sideline are saying it could be a hamstring, not a knee. that would be much better,.

olivera and el ham out, lazzari and ljajic in

    Romulo in for valero,

77 min ljajic takes a corner and Jovetic puts it off the crossbar, roncaglia has a chance on the rebound but misses.
78 Aquilani out and della rocca in. Jovetic and ljajic with a nice trinagle play and mulera has to deflect for a corner
83 camporese on for nastasic, Cerci on for Jovetic. ujfalusi in for Galatasaray
90 pasqual off the crossbar, nastasic leaps for it, but can’t quite get there. by all accounts Fior really deserves a tie.

    it ends 1-0.

had it not been for the injury, it probably would’ve been 0-0 and could’ve even been a win for Fior with a bit more luck.

all in all, except for the injury, a good result. Will have to wait and see how bad it is.

As reported by RadioBlu, Emiliano Viviano had a stress myotendinous the flexor of the thigh: a problem that does not cover the knee. For the recovery will be from 2 to 6-7 weeks. Investigations will be carried out between tomorrow and after tomorrow.

Actually a lot of positive to take from that except for the Viviano thing.

From what I’ve seen and heard so far, Roncaglia is looking nice. He’s carrying over the nastiness he had in Argentina too.
