Mutu looked sharp to me, and Cacia was really active in his time on the pitch; his goal was just the sort of alert, instinctive finish that’s been eluding Pazzini, who must be so exasperated still to be without a European goal.

Dainelli made a couple really, really awful backpasses that nearly screwed Frey (which is more than a little troubling with Roma coming up), and Liverani mis-hit a clearance spectacularly to create Ronsenborg’s best chance before their goal. Other than that, though, Fiorentina looked good and, after the fist 25 minutes or so, definitely were in control.

I think La Viola have what it takes to go all the way in the UEFA Cup, but the defense concerns me…Everton has what it takes to punish us for those flukish goals.
