Fiorentina Delayed After Plane Scare The Viola were delayed from taking off after some technical problems with their flight out to Romania. Fiorentina's trip to Bucharest was delayed by over an hour after the plane which was scheduled to take them to Romania was grounded. The Italians were due to depart from Aeroporto di Firenze on Meridiana flight IG2205 at 12:40 local time but the passengers were told to disembark from the aircraft and return to the terminal after some technical hitches prevented the plane from taking off. The aircraft was inspected and given the all clear to proceed with the flight after vigourous checks. Fiorentina took off at 13:45 local time and they are expected to land in Romania this afternoon. The Viola clash with Steaua Bucharest on Wednesday night for a place in the UEFA Cup as they were eliminated from the Champions League two weeks ago. Cesare Prandelli's men are in confident mood following their 4-1 win over Torino on Sunday but the Romanians will not lay down as they too can qualify for the UEFA Cup with a win. whoops.
