The Rosanero crashed out 2-1 at home to Lega Pro Prima A (Third Division) side Ravenna, who completely stunned the Renzo Barbera.

Fabio Liverani, who arrived in Sicily on a free transfer in the summer after his contract at Fiorentina expired, is remaining positive despite their elimination.

“We did show some good movements, and it was a pity to lose because we had a good start,” said the veteran.

“However, we lose and win together so we can’t point the finger against someone in particular because it was the whole team’s fault.

“We are going to analyse the game with coach Stefano Colantuono and then we will try to learn from our errors.

Some semi-Fiorentina news: Arturo Lupoli (on-loan at Norwich City from La Viola) netted two very well taken goals against my team yesterday. A raw talent, but nowhere near the finished article – he’s been at that stage for far too many years now though perhaps.

There’s a friendly going on right now at AZ Alkmaar, oddly enough. A friendly no one even knew hadn’t been cancelled until about a week ago, from what I can tell. No streams, no nothing. Arg.
