Check out our boy Mutu – participating in a charity kick-about with some NBA players and other footballers in NYC. It’s for Steve Nash’s charity, and last year it seems like it was a big success. He better not get hurt!

I think Drenthe has the talent to be a box-to-box wing back like a Maicon or a Dani Alves, but he’s still pretty raw on the pitch. Emotionally? Can he handle the racism of Serie A? Not saying doing so is easy, but he’s had trouble with fans at RM, his own and the opposition’s. I want him to do well, I’m just not excited yet.

I like the pick up of Drenthe. I’ve always thought he had good quality, and with his speed and crossing abilities, i think he will fit in with this team very well!

Yeah, I don’t get the Drenthe thing, either. At least I’m pretty confident that if he doesn’t fit, Prands won’t play him.

I’m still waiting on centreback news. Come on, Corvino, get us someone good. Or two someones, preferably.

i know alot of people rag on drenthe, but id like to see him in viola. we need more speed and flair down the wings.

if thats true then i’m confused, we have gobbi, pasqual and vargas down the left so why do we need drenthe? Buy some centre backs!!

According to violanews.com Drenthe has agreed to join Fiorentina…he will arrive on a one year loan with a 8-12 million euro buyout clause in Fiorentina’s favor at the end of the season. Fiorentina will sign Drenthe among competition from Ajax and Genoa.
