Uh, Does Anyone Have £13.68 Million Pounds that Adi Mutu can Borrow?
By: Ted | August 14th, 2008
‘Cause apparently he now officially owes it to Chelsea. Of course he will appeal, but this is a story that just won’t go away. At least he’s now cup-tied so he can’t go pushing to be sold again.
To the left see a computer simulation of what Adrian will look like in ten years if he has to pay Chelsea that money. You don’t want that to happen to your best attacking player, do you?
So anyway, pass around the hat. I’m sure we can collect most of it. In the meantime, the London Times coverage of the story can be found here.

Just a tad excessive for a club that doesn’t need any money, don’t you think?

Yeah Chelsea doesn’t ‘need’ the money, and Adrian didn’t ‘need’ to do coke. He didn’t ‘need’ to lie when they gave him the option of going to counseling, and he certainly didn’t ‘need’ to breach a multimillion dollar contract. Oh well.

Right. But he’s rehabilitated now. Chelsea doesn’t need the money, he already had a year ban and another fine, they have no reason to sue him for this. This will probably bankrupt him, and then who’s happy? No one.

OFF TOPIC: Frey might be one hell of a goal keeper but what is he thinking about with his beard?

To a.d.:
Get over yourself. This happened quite a while ago now, and why didn’t the Chelsea pigs go after him while at Juve? Because they thought Juve was too powerful to have a decision go their way. Now that he’s at Fiorentina they think they can push everyone around, and FIFA played right into it. It’s absurd.

I just hope Mutu will spit at Mourinho’s face. He was the one who should have protected him, but he never did. Just think about if some of his darling had the same situation, would he have thrown ‘em out like that?

I have about £13.72 in pocket change. (And three krone from the last time I was in Denmark — I think with the conversion rate that’s about £0.40.) Think that will help?

Chelsea terminated Mutu’s contract not the other way around, Chelsea could have kept Mutu through the ban and then sold him.

looks like montolivio is on his way home.

Well, at least this gives Monto more time to rest and recuperate before the second leg of the CL qualifier. Now he’s just got to put his disappointment out of his mind — the Olympics are all well and good, but Fiorentina is the important thing.

SHIT SHIT SHIT
Mutu Suffers Injury Blow
Fiorentina and Romania striker Adrian Mutu has been dealt an injury blow after he was carried off from training with his national side on Tuesday morning.
»Comments (1) Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom The prolific hit-man is currently on international duty but he will not be playing in any friendly game after picking up an injury. The Romanian had to be carried off the field of play by his team mates as he wasn’t able to move.
It’s a massive blow for the Viola who are relying on Mutu’s goals to carry them through a long and difficult season in both Serie A and in Europe.
The extent of his injury is not yet known but reports suggest he will undergo further examinations within the next few hours in order to confirm the damage of this latest set-back.
It’s not the news Cesare Prandelli wanted to hear and he is likely to be furious. A number of coaches have recently been moaning about players coming back from international duty crocked.
The Viola tactician is likely to make his voice heard following Mutu’s injury. Things can’t get any worse for the hit-man as he was recently slapped with a €17m fine. This will only add insult to injury.

I read 20-days injured. As I said over at the Juve page, while I’d never wish injury on a player, this is a amassive relief!

Monto came back from China injured too — a muscle problem, which isn’t terribly surprising considering he is reported to have run off five kilos in body weight each game (they say that was water, but I say, Riccardo Montolivo does not have an extra five kilos to lose). He’s been assigned to five days rest, and then they’ll reevaluate him. It may well rule him out for the second leg of the CL tie, and worse, might rule him out of the Juve match as well.
Not that we’re not capable of kicking your ass even without Monto and Mutu, alessio.

go pazzini, i guess.
BUCHAREST, Aug 19 (Reuters) – Fiorentina’s Romania striker Adrian Mutu has dislocated his elbow training with the national squad and will miss Wednesday’s friendly with Latvia.
“Mutu’s left arm is immobilised and he needs two weeks to recover,” Romania team spokesman Paul Zaharia told Reuters.
He said coach Victor Piturca had called up Universitatea Craiova striker Florin Costea to replace Mutu.
Zaharia added that Mutu will miss the Champions League third qualifying round second leg tie at Slavia Prague next Wednesday, while his Italian club said in a statement he is doubtful for the start of the Serie A season at the end of the month.
He could also struggle to be fit for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and the Faroe Islands on Sept. 6 and 10 respectively, Zaharia added.
