And you are right to talk about his link up play - that's the strongest part of his game right now and he's done a great job of keeping possession and playing with Mutu. In my opinion, this has evolved into a really significant problem for Fiorentina. Obviously Viola fans are spoiled because we got used to having Toni up there the past 2 years. But right now neither Pazzini or Vieri is a big threat to score goals (7 league goals between the 2 of them). Mutu has been playing great when healthy all year, but Fiorentina needs one of the many strikers besides him to evolve into a consistent threat as the target man/center forward. Vieri is not that guy at his age - don't get me wrong, he has far and away exceeded my expectations for him this year. I think at this point it is a case of having too many strikers (Bobo, Pazzini, Cacia, Osvaldo, Lupoli) means not having any strikers at all. I think a draw would have been the "fair" result - but I'm happy that Fiorentina showed the grit to win this game.
